Never read a bad book by this guy. And I'm a sucker for Civil War stuff, so this one did it for me. Waning months of the conflict and Sherman's army is marching to Atlanta. The book is divided into three parts titled Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. No real reason for that as one is no different than another. Focus is on a few major characters, yankees, confederates, turncoats, slaves, and their roll in the unfolding events. Ends with the signing of the peace agreement and the assasination of Lincoln. A very good Civil War novel.
Grade - A
