This is the first album that I heard by Pink Floyd and even today it still amazes me ! How did they create all of those "weird" sounds back in 1969 and then duplicate them to a tee for the most part at their live concerts !
As a double album, studio and live, it stands out as a landmark for me....the music so different and experimental.
Does anyone know why they released a live and studio album together ?
And the memorable and somewhat forgotten tracks - Live version of their standard playlist of the day - Astronomy Domine, Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, Careful with That Axe, Eugene and A Saucerful of Secrets are still brilliant today !
The studio tracks - Sysyphus, The Narrow Way, The Grand Vizier's Garden Party and of course Waters' Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict...lol...what a brilliant and inventive mind !
Also many of the tracks here are between seven to thirteen minutes in length. Lots of music on this twofer.

"I find that Pink Floyd's contribution to music is too monumental and brilliant that I have no one album that really stands out from the other !
Each album is a monumental achievement within itself...avant garde, psychedelic, rock, progressive, folk , I enjoy them all !
One of the greatest ensembles in music history IMHO ! " ...I said this here before !
