New releases are usually tough for me. As in they generally take a while to sink in. When I post these New Album reviews here, they are always after just one listen. Hard for me to get into an album with just one listen. Having prepped you with that, I know CH explained my rating system to you, but just to review.
I have a grading scale of 1.0 to 3.0.
1.0 - 1.6 means I do not like the album
1.7 - 2.3 means I like the album
2.4 - 3.0 means I love the album
Rare to get one in that top tier after one listen.
Last time that happened I think was Sade's last release, an excellent album for me.
This Incubus release came out a 1.6.
As with most music it would no doubt grow on me after additional playings.
This is not something I would buy at regular price.
That is not to say I wouldn't pick it up from the discount bin should it show up there.
That would be the only way it would get added air time to my ears, at which point it could rise to that second tier.
I could never see loving it.
