1989 release from under-appreciated Brit band.
Chris Difford & Glen Tilbrook are/were superior song-writers who focussed on everyday life, and found some wonderful material in what others may consider mundane subject matter.
Whatever the subject matter, the melodies are great, and I have a soft spot for Tilbrook's vocals. Jools Holland's last album with the band, so he gets to sing one as well.
The AllMusic review is pretty strong, but the score doesn't reflect this...
AllMusic 2/5 stars
"Writing about music is like dancing about architecture"
