Hey Tiggi, while I agree with what you say about this album, I think that 'The Ghost of Tom Joad' is really an incredible album. Totally underrated and largely ignored by the press. This is where the Boss steps outside of himself and delivers a blistering (albeit quiet) summary of the life and times of those living on the borderline. It's chilling, beautiful and cuts to the bone. One of the very few times that I give an album 10/10. (Apart from every Pink Floyd album of course!!!! That goes without saying.) A musical equivalent of 'The Catcher in the Rye' or 'The Grapes of Wrath'. Camel's 'Dust and Dreams' has the same effect. Maybe I need therapy......
