The Rolling Stones have a whole range of great songs across albums such as 'Sticky Fingers', 'Let It Bleed' and 'Beggers Banquet', along with plenty of awsome singles e.g. 'Jumping Jack Flash'. However the reason I think 'Exile On Main St' stands out as their "best" album is because it flows better than their predecessors. All of the songs on the album compliment each other and fit together perfectly. It's an album that needs to be listened to in its entirety to appreciate it though so don't expect to listen to one song off it and instantly fall in love with it. It's more of an album rather than a collection of singles bunched together with filler songs, which is how I feel some of their earlier albums come across.
That's my brief overview of it anyway if it's of any help to potential stone fans.
