The style really gained stregth when the Eagles had a hit with JB's "Take It Easy" and grew from there. "Doctor My Eyes" off Saturate Before Using is anothe example of the "Jam" sound. I believe the Eagles were of this ilk rather than a clone of Poco as Poco was MUCH more country leaning, especially early on.
nice evaluation Gater...! California Jam sounds pretty good to me, as the feel of the songs has the same feel as the Stills-Young Band sound also.
