i paid 450pounds($1200approx) for a copy of 12" single, King Truman's "like a gun" on Acid Jazz label some years ago. King Truman was a psuedynym that Paul Weller used in 1988.
it is a 'house' record,he was p*ssed at Polygram for not releasing his Style Council 'house' material. Polygram got wind of it and forced it from sale immediately, apparently less than 30 copies werent accounted for, my copy is still sealed...apparently its not a very good song but im a Weller completist, enough said.
also paid 125pounds($450approx) for Paul McCartney's "choba b cccp" russian album in 1989/90, was album of 1950s rock covers only released in Soviet Union on vinyl, eventually bootleg cd copies made their way out and Macca released the album universally. incidentally 'choba b cccp' translates to 'back in the ussr', again my copy is still sealed.
any other interesting purchases,anyone?
