I don't know about this. I think that it's up to the individual to keep their own traditions alive -I wouldn't feel comfortable telling anyone what they can and cant keep of their background no matter where they live.
As regards organisations replacing 'Christmas' with 'Holidays', I feel a little bit put out when that happens cos I love Christmas but organisations usually respond to what their customers want so maybe a bit of consumer pressure can change things.
I also think that Christmas being 'demoted' also seems to be a symptom of increasing secularisation rather than direct competition from other religions but I confess I don't have a problem with this particular aspect.
