In late Nov Santa Claus arrives in Holland after his trip from Turkey.
On Dec 5 ( Packjes avond ) we all get presents !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then on Dec 25 we celebrate The Birth Of Jesus and again we get presents..
Here the Catholic church separated the present giving Santa Claus ( A generous Turkish Bishop!) from the Christmas part.............other countries put them together.
Its part of the fact that The Dutch are a nation or seamen/traders are brought in the Eastern Asian influences from their trades in the spies from the East .
Kids love both but It can be expensive !

Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!
It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown..............................Chris Simpson ( "Mixed Up Sensations" 1975 Martin's Cafe )
