Kept feeling like Betty White was talking to me when I was reading this.
Basically this is an autobiography as she zips through her early years before meeting George, then goes in depth from their marriage on. Shouldn't an autobio make you like the person more? This one didn't do that for me. Nothing really negative, just too dry. Maybe you have to be a woman. Parts where she talks about events that happened are ok. I'd say at least half of it is notes from her journal that she kept over the years. Too much talking about lunches/dinners they either attended or hosted. Then she goes into detail about what was served and the attire that was worn. Please, spare me. The woman should did lead a priveleged life once she hooked up with George. From a moderate income family, once she was married she was home free, with George's daddy already being a senator. Don't think she did a thing domestically once hitched. Not that she's not appreciative of that. A long book. Too long.
