First solo album from ex-Floyd singer/guitarist/songwriter, released in '70.
This is what a tortured, acid-fried genius sounds like in case you've ever wondered.
Much of this album consists of pretty rough early takes, which I believe was due to SB's fragile state, and unwillingness to record endless takes. On some of the songs, his writing and performing talent is still present, and many of the songs could have been contenders for Piper at The Gates of Dawn, if given the necessary polish. Some of the others are a bit of a car crash.
Uncomfortable listening at times, particularly on the bonus tracks where studio discussions have been included, and Syd is clearly a broken individual.
He still managed a further solo album, before turning away from music.
