I was sort of disappointed here. But I think it's only because I had set my expectations too high based on how much I ended up liking We Don't Need To Whisper. But as I recall, that one took some spinning before it grew on me. I do have it, but my rotation being as it is, it gets played rarely now. I never heard the second album, I-Empire. Anyway I love Tom Delonge's voice which I kept waiting for on the opener of El Ducit Mundum Per Luce. Come on now, seriously folks, why start an album with an instrumental that nobody knows what it even means. It was ok, but I want meat for an appetizer. It got better with Flight Of Apollo and maintained that plateau pretty much throughout. There weren't many peaks or valleys and I think that's the downfall for me. Just that status quo sound of sameness. I think Epic Holiday and Hallucinations were my best with that lead off, Clever Love and Some Origins of Fire being the low points. This is not a bad album for me, just one I would not buy unless at a reduced price.
