Surfer Blood - Astro Coast
#4
Took me a while to become a master of the download system but after a bit of thought and trial and error I got it down loaded and unpacked.
So off I go into real player cans on and .........................
I liked this album on first hearing ....it was easy to listen to and engaged me quickly......there is nice use of fuzz guitar and a rather intriguing can vocals. I could hear quite a few interesting echoes of the past, for a moment “The Who” came to mind along with a nod towards Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys in the vocal department . Did Scritti-Politti have a bit of an influence or even The Cocteau twins? They have mastered the art of producing a good hook and as a result you walk away from the session with many of the tracks planted firmly in your brain and often you feel the need to reach for the album and re-listen. For a first album from a band who claim to have done little live work this seems to be a great start ..........I look forward to two things..........a chance to see them live and a second album...........:biggrin:Cool
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.
