TRAVELING WILBURYS "volume 1" cd 1988
cant recall ever posting this album before??
a supergroup of Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and George Harrison
formed after Harrison's label wanted a b-side to the single "got my mind set on you",
his friends (the other members) were in UK at the time and he called them in to sing on "handle with care",
the label said the song was too good to be a b-side and urged the five to record an album, which they did and the rest is history.
tracks are country-esque, folky, country-rock and americana but this could fit in the rock threads also...
so many great songs on here from the title track to "last night", "end of the line", "tweeter and the monkey man" etc that its impossible to pick a favourite track so i picked one of the bonus tracks from the 2007 box set reissue this time round
album ranks a respectable 2.4 which means...
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
previously unreleased George Harrison sung tune:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.
