UK TOP 100 14.06.25 #37
THE TOP TEN:
10. Azizam – Ed Sheeran (Down 2/Sales fall/10 weeks in chart)
9. Sapphire – Ed Sheeran (NEW)
8. Blessings – Calvin Harris/Clemintine Douglas (Down 1/Sales fall/5 weeks in chart)
7. Back To Friends – Sombr (Up 2/NEW PEAK/Sales climb/14 weeks in chart)
6. Family Matters – Skye Newman (Down 1/Sales fall/4 weeks in chart)
5. Undressed – Sombr (Down 1/Sales fall/12 weeks in chart)
4. Pink Pony Club – Chappell Roan (Down 1/Sales fall/30 weeks in chart)
3. Love Me Not – Ravyn Lenae (Down 1/Sales climb/18 weeks in chart)
2. Ordinary – Alex Warren (Down 1/Sales fall/18 weeks in chart)
1. Manchild – Sabrina Carpenter (NEW)
NEW ENTRIES:
85. Let Down – Radiohead (8.3/10)
Released in 1997 from their extremely well-received album "OK, Computer", seeing this in the chart is quite interesting, and for the better. It's a bit different from most things of its time, with alternative rock that doesn't go on full blast and instead has a dreamy sound that builds more quality.
61. New York – Addison Rae (4.9/10)
I can't understand the appeal which stems from the same hyped-up pop elements that she always uses. It's not only overused, but it's frankly just been put into so many different ways that it's gotten sickening. Her newest album wasn't for me either; there were only two songs on it I liked (three if you count an interlude).
17. Dior – MK/Chrystal (5/10)
Despite Chrystal giving another unsatisfying vocal performance that could've said MUCH more, MK still had a nice loop that brought some fun. Overall, it was still too much of a safe move from the two, sadly.
9. Sapphire – Ed Sheeran (3/10)
Tell me how Ed went from making many, many good singles that'll stick with me for years to making three songs that are forgettable. Sure, Azizam was my most streamed once, but it never really had a place in my heart… It's like a song that's good but not over the top but for some reason stuck with you. "Sapphire" goes for a mix of English and Punjabi, with Ed starting the song with a generic start and then loudly screaming "Sapphire" and then starting to rap, and if you know me, then you know I hate Ed Sheeran rapping; it's one of the most unnecessary things! It's like when Taylor Swift tried to cover Eminem's "Lose Yourself". And I've actually been hearing "Sapphire" on my feed for weeks, but it never stuck with me; in fact, it started bad, and now it's soured on me more than it already soured. It's sad seeing one of my most streamed artists stumble this badly.
1. Manchild - Sabrina Carpenter (5.6/10)
A quick and poor attempt to make another hit song that resembles "Short N Sweet". Sabrina can never get the summer formula right, and the amount of basic choices and rehashes of older songs from Sabrina showcases this; she isn't one with the ideas.
