US HOT 100 29.04.25 #29
THE TOP TEN:
10. Beautiful Things – Benson Boone (Down 1/65 weeks in chart)
9. Lose Control – Teddy Swims (Down 2/88 weeks in chart)
8. I Ain't Coming Back – Morgan Wallen/Post Malone (NEW)
7. I'm The Problem – Morgan Wallen (Up 3/12 weeks in chart)
6. Pink Pony Club – Chappell Roan (Down 2/45 Weeks in Chart)
5. A Bar Song (Tipsy) – Shaboozey (Up 1/54 weeks in chart)
4. Nokia – Drake (Down 1/10 weeks in chart)
3. Ordinary – Alex Warren (Up 2/NEW PEAK/11 weeks in chart)
2. Die With A Smile – Lady Gaga/Bruno Mars (No Change/36 Weeks in Chart)
1. Luther – Kendrick Lamar/SZA (No Change/10th consecutive week number one/22nd week in the chart)
NEW ENTRIES:
98. House Again – Hudson Westbrook (3/10)
Having to describe these insanely tedious American country songs over and over after the Billboard chart shoves them in our faces is insane. From now on, any basic guitar, country song that I've described a million times is just getting a low rating. I'm not putting up with this anymore.
96. Actin Up – Tommy Richman (7/10)
This most likely only charted due to the Sexyy Red remix, but I'll only rate the original. It has that old-school funky hip-hop sound that is what Tommy works well on; it's better than 'Million Dollar Baby' and 'Devil Is A Lie' by far. Sure, it's similar to them, but Tommy's fun essence comes out a lot more on this. What we didn't need was a Sexyy Red remix, though.
95. Party 4 U – Charli XCX (2/10)
Why is she back AGAIN? And how can people stand minutes of autotuned, repetitive, easily made dance music? It's worse than generic, and it's pretty disturbing how people can find a song at the level of AI anything interesting. Let's hope the resurfacing of the track from 'How I'm Feeling Now' disappears because we don't need this.
92. Whim Whamiee – PLUTO/YKNIECE (0/10)
From the title and cover, I expected this to be a one out of ten song, and it was somehow even worse than that expectation. It's gangsta rap that sounds like a mix of Sexyy Red and Bhad Bhabie, as the lead vocals are more irritating than scraping your fingernails on metal. Think of it as a rich gangsta lady with pounds of makeup starting to whine on a song. I don't get how in a million years anything like this ends up charting or reaching public notice; this is diabolical and is easily one of the worst rap songs I've heard in my time alive.
91. Forever To Me – Cole Swindell (5/10)
This is about a Christian country song about a boy meeting up with a country girl, as a love song. It uses guitar and drums to really bring out the forgettable American country sound. I'm not denying that there's emotion here, but damn, it isn't built on well – low effort.
87. Headphones On – Addison Rae (4/10)
Yay! Yet another female pop act who fails to impress no matter what they release; that's another added to my list of the ones I dislike. I've never been a fan of Addison and wasn't expecting anything good out of this, especially seeing she's been on an insane streak of bad, but this is actually better than her usual; 4/10 is an improvement... but overall this is still just some forgettable pop song.
78. Steve's Lava Chicken - Jack Black (5/10)
You've got to be kidding me… a 34-second song of Jack Black singing about Minecraft's Lava Chicken. I knew the movie had a huge first-week breakthrough, but it didn't really bring anything good out of it apart from brain rot, like this. This is like the time 'Man In Finance' charted last year. I'm not even going to take this seriously; it's guitar rock with Jack Black saying words in the strange ways he does. Let's just hope this randomness leaves the chart.
72. You're Ways Better – Forrest Frank (4/10)
Oh boy, does this have to be the guy who makes Christian music go viral again? We could at least try to switch up the genre better to accompany more unknown sounds and mix things up, but this is straight up just a social media song where the vocal holds on "together" & "head" and other words make it sound unnecessarily annoying.
71. Happens To Me – Russell Dickenson (4.9/10)
Reminds me of that really cringe country song which charted last year (I've forgotten the name of it). This is country combined with modern pop elements to make a more upbeat guitar song which doesn't just focus on the guitar to control the melody; it feels like the production has a lot of layers going on, but all just feel like they equal a really dull song that's a bad attempt to go mainstream.
8. I Ain't Coming Back – Morgan Wallen/Post Malone (7/10)
After hearing this and finding out Tate McRae is on the album – I'm hyped! This legit might be a good album... but I'm still scared about there being 37 songs on it. This is a classic country song with a more pop radio hook, which is a good follow-up from the 'I Had Some Help' collab. Post delivered a good verse alongside Morgan, but Morgan did better. The use of drums added to the instrumental effect, which I quite enjoyed.
