this one was written in 1973, the basic melody and lyrics were composed in John Denver's head whilst on a ski lift in Aspen....
to Denver it was a initially a prayer but it evolved into one of the most gorgeous love songs ever written IMO.
and when you think about it the song does have an almost prayer-like quality about it and it would be so easy to imagine this being sung in church alongside 'bridge over troubled water' (anyone see a purely subliminal theme developing here apart from me??)
to be honest, i cannot recall ever hearing any one else sing this other the magnificent John Denver so here it is for your aural pleasure today...
