i agree, Ms Heard is definitely no saint by any stretch of the imagination and Depp, well heres a few:
1: addictions to opioid medications and alcohol for the most part of his adult life...
2: claiming to be part Cherokee/Muskogee Creek Native American but not one of those Nations have ever accepted his claims of authenticity.
3: owned the infamous "viper room" nightclub which was was known for its cocaine fueled orgies and the overdose death of up and coming actor River Phoenix.
4: a member of the so-called 'modern rat pack' with Afflick, Damon and DiCaprio, the name "rat pack" says it all (drugs, booze and hookers) like the orignal Frank Sinatra run Rat Pack....
i always loves "Edward Scissorhands", thought that was an excellent movie as was his performance and that is probably the only movie of his i genuinely liked.
i have also watched (off the top of my head but probably more)
"chocolat" (too 'arty farty'),
"Sweeney Todd" (boring and the humor just didnt work)
"sleepy hollow" (that was okay)
"the lone ranger" (boring)
"charlie and the chocolate factory" (wasnt a patch on the Gene Wilder portrayal of Willie Wonka)
"alice in wonderland" (boring)
"pirates of the caribbean" (saw the first 2, stupid)
"murder on the orient express" (not a patch on the original)
"dark shadows" (a vampire parody, quite funny)
overall,
i find Depp either overstates his parts to the extent of making them look false and forced or he under acts the parts making it look like he really isnt interested in the role but i guess it is a fine line when playing such 'out there' characters that really no-one else would be able (or probably) not even want to attempt so i give him credit for being ballsy enough for some of his outlandish roles.
and i think you have to be on the crazy side of normality to do what he does anyway (like Robin Williams)...
