There is 2 kinds:
1. Rap
Because most of the songs are simple repetitive beats that are most of the time not very good and that the only reason the songs seems made in the first place is to express frustrations and violence about society. Even if basically they want to "denounce" problems, they end up with a very strong feeling of negativity that just show that they are deeply frustrated and violent. To put it musically, I see most of this music as the opposite of an "harmony". So I can't stand it. BUT, there is an exception: Cypress Hill. I have all their albums and I am a fan. That's the only rap band I actually have in my collection.
2. Soft Rock
I don't know if I'm right here, but it is the direct translation (in french: Rock Détente) of a radio station I have in my region that play EXACTLY the kind of music I can't stand. If I want to show someone what kind of music I hate, it's simple, I just open the radio to this station and there's a 98% chance that I will really hate the song playing. It's the kind of slow commercial songs, Celine Dion being a good example (she comes from Quebec, the province where I live; she basically was speaking french). You know, typical commercial artists that always sing about love, their music showing nothing special, like you heard it a million times before. I sometimes fear to end up in a job where this radio plays all day long; I fear that it may affect my moral, slowly making me mad. I really can't stand this music.
