He should give up tying the knot and tie a knot in it instead. After four attempts it must be abundantly clear to him (and everyone else) that he's just not cut out for marriage.
Crazy, you can disable updates quite easily. You can also see the history of the updates and what each one does. Or you can set the machine to inform you of updates before allowing you to choose what you want updated or not. In the little magnifying glass bottom left just type 'update' and it will take you to a page that you can customise.

i dont like the fact that they automatically install updates on my laptop without letting me know what they are and what they are in aid of.
i also dislike the fact that i dont have an option to refuse to install the update if i choose to (well maybe i do have options but im not an expert on computers by any means!, in fact 'windows for dummies' confuses the heck out of me LOL !)...
and Apple,
i own an iphone, again, automatic updates out of my control or knowledge of what theyre for!
(not out of choice, my android phone broke over Christmas last year and my sister let me borrow an old iphone of hers, a 6-S, until i could get to a store to purchase another one, after a couple of days she said 'just keep it', so i did)
next phone will be something cheap and not very 'smart' !
