Beautiful, unusual music by this Portuguese composer about whom I knew nothing before today. Modern classical with ambient moments (Discogs says jazz which I don't get) – a lot of piano and electronic elements, some tracks are instrumental, some vocal/ese – all extraordinarily elegant and expressive; cerebral yet with an underlying yearning, melancholy element reminiscent of, while nothing at all like fado - saudade. I loved it.
Here’s a link to Rodrigo Leão’s website and his words about how the whole thing came about. http://www.rodrigoleao.pt/en/album-music/o-metodo/
A sung track in collaboration with a young Italian composer, Federico Albanese, and Danish vocalist Casper Clausen - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqsCZgz6g6o
