^Yes. Charming! Where is the money though? It's gone. Every single time some exec is caught with their fingers in the cookie jar - Joe and Josephine citizen bear the brunt and the exec gets a slap on the wrist. No doubt tariffs will be increased so they can do us a favour, keep the lights on and we can all feel grateful. Pffft. Ridiculous that the state should have a monopoly on power supply - so wrong.
It's also a case of smoke and mirrors though - drawing attention away from years, decades even, of mismanagement - Medupi power station was purposely built next to a coal mine for ease of supply, except that mine produces coal that is the incorrect grade for a dry coal fueled plant and can't be used, hence the 'wet' coal story ... among various other stupidities - https://www.fin24.com/Budget/how-medupi-...a-20191009
