STYLE COUNCIL "café bleu" vinyl/cd 1984:
the band's debut album...
an eclectic collection of jazz, big band, blues, folk, pop, blue eyed soul
rap, funk and classical...
Weller did not sing vocals on all tracks and neither did he contribute guitar
to many neither but he wrote all tracks...
half the album is also instrumental, all of which confused and alienated
Weller's hard core Jam fans...
a good solid collection of songs that works very well despite its eclectic
nature...
probably in hindsight, my favourite album of his 40+ year career to date...
