NICK LOWE & HIS COWBOY OUTFIT "the rose of England" vinyl, 1985:
Nick's sixth studio album of fourteen...
only one I own, plus a 49 track compilation...
typical rockabilly, soft rock sounds of Rockpile and cohort Dave Edmunds solo sounds...
the only single released was "I knew the bride" which only charted in Australia..
the album charted in Australia (#29) and US (#119) but nowhere else...
nine originals, three covers including a cover of my favourite Elvis Costello song
"indoor fireworks", love his version also...
love just about everything on the album but best track for me is the title track:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.
