IMELDA MAY "life, love, flesh, blood" cd, 2017:
Irish vocalist...
given her initial big break on Jools Holland's show....
fifth album....
second I own, her third, Mayhem, is the other one...
that one has a rockabilly/1950s rock/r+b sound....
this one is a change of direction, its jazzy and bluesy...
more mature than the other one...
a great album and one of my favourites from last year...
well worth a listen if you like the genre!
love her crystal clear vocals:
the first single "call me" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KY5u496Y6kA (video)
the second single "black tears" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILjkdZloLUM (live on Later With...Jools)
the third single, and my favourite off the album (not as jazzy as the rest of the album)
