ELVIS PRESLEY "blue Hawaii (OST)" vinyl.cd 1961:
soundtrack album to his sixth movie, second since leaving the army....
the last good Presley movie with decent songs and a half decent plot....
contains the mega-hit "cant help fallin' in love" and its rockier "b-side"
"rock-a-hula baby"....
the single reached #1 in UK/AU but only #2 in his homeland, it also peaked at #3
in the UK upon re-issue in 2005....
the biggest selling album of his career at the time of his death in 1977 and continues
to sell to this day...
songs have a distinctly Hawaiian flavour and apart from one traditional Hawaiian tune the rest
are all originals...
a decent collection of songs...
to show the selling capacity of Presley back in the day, this album was the second biggest seller in the US
in the 1960s decade, only the OST for Westside Story beat it, which means it was bigger than anything put out
by four guys from across the pond (whose names I cant recall-LOL)
