GLENN MILLER "the essential glenn miller" cd, 2005:
career spanning double disc set.....
some thirty-eight tracks eaturing the GM Orchestra mostly but also the GM Army Air Force Band...
already knew most of the tracks which sound good as one off listens on the radio or on tv shows etc
but to listen to all those tracks back to back is a bit tedious to say the least...
that said, he was the most revered Band Leader not only of the day but throughout music history...
he was a perfectionist and a tyrant to work for, but hey, aren't all the greats from any era...
then theres the mystery of his disappearance of his plane, but that's another story...
no matter how tedious the album was in one sit down listen its still impossible not to tap your feet
to most of it...
his signature tune:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.
