Imagine that this planet we are on is just an atom floating around in another much larger body. The mind boggles.
I tend to perceive the Universe as almost like a great cosmic ocean: vast, beautiful, ancient, potentially deadly, and overwhelming. My mind can hardly wrap itself around the size of the Universe. It makes me feel like a tiny drop of water that hardly has any ripple effect. As far as us never knowing if there are any life forms out there, I don't know that I can say that tbh, Humans have been learning so much in the last 200 years or so, that I can't know what we might learn about potential life in our Universe.
Obviously, I don't know if there are other forms of life out there, I just have a hard time imagining we're the only ones. But yes, the Universe is so immense that I think there are things that will remain unknown to us still. Anyways, sorry for veering off-topic. I get really into these discussions haha, back to news stories.
