A history of the Vietnam war from a Washington perspective. For policy wonks only. Five presidents led us through this biggest intervention mistake in US history. From Truman through Nixon. Hardly any in the field views here. Most all of it comes from the presidents and the congress, safe in their homes and the capitol. What was done and why. With 700+ pages it got to be rather tedious. But it was informative. Learned some shit and that's what reading is all about.
