ENGELBRT HUMPERDINCK "at his very best" cd, 2000
career stats:
studio albums.........68
singles..................54
this album.............#5 UK
one of the great pop, crooner voices in the history of popular music IMO,
up there with Tom Jones, 1970s Elvis and John Farnham for sure...
this compilation contains twenty tracks, twelve of which would be considered to have
come from his classic years...
the remaining eight are modern recordings from the late 1990s and the year 2000...
for the most part the newer tracks are ok, his voice is still good but the the songs are just okay...
well, all except two of them, one being a very embarrassing disco/dance version of "strangers in the night"!
all up though,
a very good album from one of the finest voices in the business.
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
worst track: strangers in the night
best track: release me
