I'm currently listening to Renée Live: December 17/18, 1982
This big (around 6ft) Aussie Soul/Blues singer headed for the States in the eighties and tried to make a name for herself. Unfortunately, her first album was getting great airplay on the 'Black' FM Stations until they caught sight of the cover and discovered she wasn't 'Black' as assumed but a big, white, Jewish Aussie chick and the airplay immediately ceased.
She did stay and became a fixture on the 'Session Scene' as a backing vocalist. She can be heard on Sting's version of Little Wing.
