What do you think HARD rock is?

I definitely don't think Van Halen is hard rock. AC/DC and KISS is what I consider hard rock with metal being Metallica. I do know, though, that definitions can change with generations. When I went to music camp, some of the other campers and faculty were talking and they discovered that a lot of the songs the faculty considered as hard rock or metal, many of the campers would actually consider classic rock and roll.
