I can just hear CH and MH going - 'Oh God not again!' but this is my favourite electronic composer with his best work. And he throws in a surprise from Oxygene 7-13 as well (The closing piece). Contrary to popular belief, this is NOT pre-recorded or 'mimed'. This is electronic music played live. The reason there are four musicians is he originally recorded this on 8 tracks (4 musicians x 2 hands each = 8 tracks). And live rock n roll music is relatively easy to play compared to this. Live electronic music is a LOT more difficult because machines have to sync properly and vintage synths (like the ones in the movie) are notoriously unstable and prone to temperature fluctuations/'magnetic fields' etc. It's actually amazing that he managed to pull this off as accurately as he did. And you can tell it's live because he makes some obvious mistakes on the Doepfer ribbon controller early on in the concert and you can hear the different synths drifting from time to time. Digital electronics is an exact science - analogue electronics is anything but. Anyway enough of the blurb - on with the show..........(I warned you I wasn't well) https://youtu.be/su6MRe95FA8
