Also, I don't see Stoner and Doom metal being the same thing. I'm sorry to state the obvious but that's why there are two different terms. So don't group the bands together.
I agree with others who have said Stoner Metal is very close to hard rock. For me Doom Metal is more true Metal. There is less of the Blues sound in it. Yes the two styles are similar.
