current/recent music shows

You don't have to like country music to enjoy CMT: Crossroads; you do have to like all the varieties of American popular music, because they delight in presenting artists representing Country and...what you brung, and seeing what happens. http://www.cmt.com/show/cmt_crossroads/series.jhtml << an occasional show, now past 50 episodes (some things can't be hurried or explicitly scheduled--that's not how this show works). Some surprises but mostly it's serious artists making mutual music. One annoyance: interruptions by ads.

Live from Daryl's House An Internet-only show (as far as I know and if I'm mistaken, point us there). You know Daryl, natch--half of Hall & Oates. In his show he proves a most gracious host--fetches guest artists in, feeds them very well, gives'm the run of the place...and then extracts the best music he can from them/with them. Crack band of course, and, as you'd expect with Daryl * they stay on the soulful side. It's "bookmark" if you travel that side of the street. Needless to say...
http://www.livefromdarylshouse.com/ Some tunes squeezed out on YT ( I say that because the sound of the show gets squeezed down to YT standards--defining deviancy down). Some joker has 117-song "Best of"; another'n got 44--designed for you "Red Zone" watchers.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSz1JpoUhV8 << from a newer, with Darius Rucker << what a great groove
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVMz-zzHE9Q << Doing an H&L classic with Jimmy Wayne << one of the joys of this show is hearing previously-unk-to-me singers, like this one--Gawd, what a voice!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOabsfRNyxs << with Train on a Motown classic << THE modern version to listen to.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pLTD23l468 << with Todd Rundgren--no big surprise...Mr. Rundgren's a Philly boy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qjxOp_0Guc << with the Plain White T's on a Joe Jackson classic
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MbaGJN2ioQ << with Billy Gibbons...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0w9pCU6f1c << with Cee Lo << see the sweat and grease drippin' offa that bad-ass bass axe? Fonky from the jump.
A different take on the same song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-OZOjINrF8 << That terrif guitarist, Tom Wolk, subsequently expired. RIP T-Bone
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3TJlTLjxKo << with Jason Mraz

BONUS: the full show with Joe Walsh: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPV6nKrhOGg << This'ns wizard--do not bypass

* I can't not play this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3xt_bKJ3DY << That sax player--can't find his name but have seen him elsewhere and he always just freakin' nails it. << Some see an over-wrought perf here; I see deeply impassioned...we'll leave it at that.

OK I lied in the title--I'm going back 25-30 years for this. A small TV station in Canada had an innovative idea to bring folks in a genre together for an informal session. "Search" here for SRV and Albert King--here's some others from CHCH "In Session":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giZhwtJqyX4 << Dr. John and Johnny Winter
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qI4rEOKREyM << BB King and Larry Carlton
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAmotP1MjIg << short clip of Don Everly and Burton Cummings
BTW an outstanding SRV performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEn3BPsXTbU

If anyone has more links to this 1983/1988 TV series, please share. In searching I get a lot of irrelevant CourtTV mish-mosh...

Edited only to size up the station and show.

The "Tiny Desk" concert show on-line on an American public-network outfit, NPR, produces great "small" productions of a wide variety of artists--I've quoted the series often, most recently the Avett Brothers. Here's a short Wiki on the creator, producer and host, Bob Boilen: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Boilen << he also has his own site. The show's Site: http://www.npr.org/series/tiny-desk-concerts/ << I didn't see a search function (they're badly in need of that and/or an index--the list goes awhile)--keep scrollin'--you're bound to find something that appeals--10-30 minutes of everything from a Balkan brass band to the Pixies (I do mean everything).
3 examples, off the top of my head:
==Note:If your streaming gets "burpy", try taking it out of HD by clicking that small HD button
http://www.npr.org/event/music/139588312...sk-concert
http://www.npr.org/event/music/351862276...sk-concert << amazing # of people in that space
http://www.npr.org/event/music/371905089...sk-concert << not just newbies and unknowns or the oddities. Other Big Names appear also.

This is a bookmarkable Site you'll come back to when you need inspiration or are feeling intrigued.

Hipped by a tip (the backdrop in another Contributor's link), I bring you this. The Coffee House Sessions. Appears weighted towards singer-songwriters and the angst-ridden.:
