Recently-mentioned, long lost Beach Boys album that surfaced 37 years after being written. It was shelved for numerous reasons, and then Wilson became incapacitated for numerous reasons, but he finally got round to finishing it.
It was written during his writing purple-patch, and it's a good example of his vocal harmony mini-symphonies...

Rhythm & Blues, or Rock & Roll ?? Don't really care, but this was very enjoyable...
Fats seems to spend most of the time in his songs crying over lost love. The big Jessie...

I am currently listening to Smile Empty Soul's new album Consciousness. It's a great album and really shows how much the band has progressed since their self-titled debut.

Yep - it should have gone in with 'Jazz, Funk & Blues' as such but, then again, he was a true icon of early Rock and Roll along with Little Richard and the like.

I remember reading a story about Fats losing pretty much all he owned in Hurricane Katrina. That included awards from his heyday. Saw an interview where he broke down recalling the event. Sad stuff. Blueberry Hill is my fav.

He certainly did lose almost everything (including his life) at the time, Irma Thomas also pretty much lost her club. :frown:

Codiak - The Pinewood Sessions. I first heard about them after i got a copy of Bob Dylan Uncovered (im a dylan freak). They rocked out real well in "I dont believe you," and i just came across their new EP on a Tsite. Great download. Easy listen. There's not much easy listening rock these days. I recommend them if you want some easy listening rock.

The Mars Volta - Octahedron
I don't know if I've just got used to listening to them but this seems catchy and unchallenging - not in a bad way though - bit puzzling.
