Debut album and it put them on the map with Born To Be Wild which helped immortalize the film
Easy Rider. The song is one of those that you got sick of hearing on the classic rock stations,
but it deserved to be there. Always loved John Kay's growly vocals. Didn't know he was a
German. Relocated to Canada when he was a kid where he formed the band Sparrows. No success
there but moved to California where he formed Steppenwolf in 1967. That Canada connection must
explain the #1 charting for this album there. Got to #6 here with Born To Be Wild making #2.
That was the highest charting single the group had. Nice Chuck Berry Tribute with Berry Rides
Again along with a cool cover of Willie Dixons Hootchie Kootchie Man. The Pusher has always
been my favorite. Five love tracks and nothing I don't like. I really need a best of set from
these guys.

I LOVE THIS ALBUM

IRON BUTTERFLY "heavy" cd,1968

psychadelic prog rock....
much better than their "in-a-gadda-da-vida" album IMO which i do not like(except for the title track and one other track)...
a more consistant album than that one with only two tracks i dont like here, again, only two i love also, but the vast majority are okay IMO...
not so much of the psychadelic stuff here, more straight rock, not a bad album but i still wouldnt say im a fan or that i would need this one if i were stuck on a desert island at anytime!
also, it is one of those albums that needs to be heard in its entirety to see the whole picture so heres the link for the full album:

Hi guys,

I created some records in my home studio and I would like to know your opinion about my work. Please be fair i am beginner but I accept all your advice and reproaches. I need to know your opinion for my next growth.

Here si the link:
Acheron - Love story - YouTube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZb-gVbq52E

The record is completely made by me (record, mix, mastering). The music video is not major for my research, but i also did it.

Record was taken on LOW COST equipment:

Focusrite Saffire pro 40

Microphones:
Kick - Shure Beta 52A
Snare - Audix i5
Toms - Audix i5, Shure PG 56
OHs - Samson CO2
Vocal - Rode NT1000
Guitar - Audix i5
Bass - link

The gear used (as you can see from the video): Mesa Boogie rect. 50, Kettner Statesman, Gallien, Mapex.

Thank you very much for your objective review of quality of music record!

Please subscribe!

The production is very good. You can be proud of your work. Well done! It does not matter how expensive your gear is. What you do with it is what's important. And the room you record in.
