Anyone remember this one? An absolute classic. From the very first note, it had hit single written all over it. http://youtu.be/6yYchgX1fMw
And then he follows it with this - incredible composer - http://youtu.be/LVlDSzbrH5M

The post about Glass Houses has sparked a Billy Joel revival of sorts for me. Forgotten just how good this guy is. Busy listening to 'Scenes from an Italian Restaurant'. Wonderful stuff. Going to follow it with the 'Concert' album.

I do believe Bob painted his masterpiece with this one. Always been my favorite. His sixth album and the first to
chart higher here than in the UK. We finally caught up. Like A Rolling Stone was the first Dylan song to receive
extensive airplay and I don't remember it being edited down from the 6 minutes. That song sits at the top of Rolling
Stones 500 greatest songs of all time, along with the album being #4 on the 500 greatet albums list. This album is
where the Dylan purists cried foul. Folk Dylan was no more. The only track here that was not electric was the closer
Desolation Row. That happens to be my favorite here, so I confess, maybe I was holding on too. Eleven minutes long
and I was captivated by every verse. That didn't stop me from loving all the other tracks but two. That kazoo thing
in the title track was always so bad. Not sure I knew who Mike Bloomfield and Al Kooper were at the time, but they
both play on the album and I became a fan. One of my favorite live albums comes from them as a team. Dylan was off
and running as a mainstream artist with this album. A quote from Bob sometime after the release, "I'm not gonna to
be able to make a record better than that one". I'll second that.
I LOVE THIS ALBUM

The boys had not arrived in town yet for this fifth album. That would come with the next one, Jailbreak. This one
was my introduction to the band, and I'm not sure what drew my attention. Certainly nothing outstanding on here for
me now. It was a more hard rock sound than previous releases. Only non original is the leadoff Rosalie which is a
Bob Seger song. That was a single along with Wild One. Neither faired that well, nor did the album. A couple of
tracks fell flat for me putting the album in the low like area. Showing two different covers for this album. Both
are just pics of the band, so why the difference? Doesn't tell me why, but I'm assuming it's a UK/US thing. I like
mine better.

BOB DYLAN "tempest" cd,2012.
Bob's 35th studio album, and this is his 50th year of making records...awesome feat from a guy who cannot generally sing a note in tune or play on key most of the time!!!!
i am always wary about Bob Dylan albums, when you think he's on a roll he releases pure crap, then when youve given up on him he releases a masterpiece worthy of his great back catalogue,,,i guess thats just the way he rolls!!!!,
his last three or four albums have been exceptionally good, and i was expecting a dud this time round, but was pleasantly surprised by this one. not so much of the jazzy/bluesy sound he had done over the last decade, but its still there in the first couple of tracks, then he diverts off into a bit of folk, country, bluegrass i guess for the remainder of the album.
a couple of truly great Dylan tracks here that would fit on almost all his classic albums in "tin angel" and "scarlett town".
a fourteen and and a half minute epic(the title track) that follows the maiden voyage of the Titanic through to its final resting place, also a very good piece of work.
a belated tribute to John Lennon on "roll on john", not bad, but the worst on here for me.
on my recommendation to my mum(who loves Dylan) she went and bought this last week also, i asked her to play it a few times, then rate the songs according to the Music Head Rating System which she duly did and gave me her scores on the phone yesterday, so my scores will be in black text, hers in red.
all-up a very very good Dylan album which shows you cant keep those old guys down, and when they are and do...you simply cant count them out for too long!
most of the tracks have been removed from youtube for whatever reason, but the ones that are still on there have been posted!!!!,maybe it has something to do with copyright and Dylan's people had them removed?!?
I LOVE THIS ALBUM

THE MOODY BLUES "icon" cd,2011.
another of Dani's cds here,
listened to on saturday whilst driving for a night away from suburbia for a semi rural motel...
double compilation set featuring all the well known Moodies tracks, interesting to note that this is the thirteenth compilation set they have released...and they only released something like fourteen studio albums...how the hell does that work, maybe they have the same people in charge as those who keep on doing the same with Elvis best of sets LOL!
all up twenty-three tracks on here, surprised that there were four i didnt like, not even sure why i didnt like them with just over half that i really love, i just love the harmonies these guys have, totally makes these songs work IMO.
both of us also noted that Gemini Dream has a distinct ELO feel about it.
both of us also agree that Nights In White Satin still rules supreme as their penultimate track, even amongst these other gems.
shame about the four tracks i dont like, otherwise this would have got a love score....
