JETHRO TULL "thick as a brick" cd...

Ffith album from Anderson and the boys....
this is the one released prior to Passion Play,
a concept album based on the ramblings of an imaginary 8yo boy,
only bought this one the other day but had it playing in the car today, didnt really take much notice of the lyrical content but the music for "prog rock" wasnt too bad, has heaps of potential to grow on me, i am quietly confident that this one will get a love rating with a few more listens....
impossible to score this one as it only contains pt's I and II of the title track...ass an added bonus on my remastered version there are live versions of the album and an interview with Ian Anderson who explains the whole concept for the album, the recording process and his general thoughts forty years down the track...
all-up a nice album...

INXS "kick" cd,1987.

maybe some of you are surprised to know that this is the only INXS studio album that i currently own....well,it is!
dont know what it is, but something puts me off these guys most of the time, thus, i either find their songs to be either crap or brilliant with very little inbetween...thus the unusually high number of "***" on this one.
pretty sure the guys were at the top of their game when this one hit the shop shelves, stadium shows all over the world,#1 hit albums almost everywhere and a constant barrage of hits in the singles charts in the US,UK nd here in Australia...six of the twelve tracks were singles here(2,3,4,5,8,9) five of which made the top 10 here, the exception being my favourite INXS track of all time "never tear us apart" which peaked at #11, their time at the top ended as quickly as their rise to the summit of rock n roll, then the untimely death of lead singer Michael Hutchence whilst performing a sexual act whilst high on alcohol and prescription drugs which went wrong ended their supposed comeback...RIP Mikey!

Sixth album and the follow up to Thick As A Brick. The concept album thing must have worked. Not as good as Brick
for me and I'm still pissed at the splitting up of The Hare Who Lost His Spectacles between side 1 and side 2. The
album is the story of a man's spiritual journey through the afterlife. Hey, that's what it says. I don't just make
this shit up. There are no individual track listings or band seperation on my vinyl release but I see the cd has
them. Would not have expected this to have sold that well on release but it did go to #1 here and #13 in the UK.
With the recent release of Thick As A Brick 2 will we now see A Passion Play 2? I hope not.

KISS "dressed to kill" cd,1975.

Kiss' third album, the band are finally showing some promise, especially in the Ace Frehley guitar solo's...but still not showing the pure class that will follow with "destroyer" less than 12months later...
some good old fashioned rock/blues rock on this one IMO, but not great!
a couple of throw-a-way tracks here and one KISS classic in "rock bottom" along with the overrated but perrenial live favourite "rock & roll all nite"
all up, not a bad KISS album, better than most but not as good as their best efforts...

The Moodies third album and firmly on the path that they are best known for. Along with the album covers which were
some of the best being done at the time. They always opened up into a double wide, suitable for framing. This is a
concept album about the search for spirituality or some such crap. I never could grasp that stuff. Not spirituality,
concept albums. They were always just songs for me. Very good ones here, loving six of the eleven tracks and nothing
I don't like. Full of the beautiful harmonies, trading off for lead. Everybody got involved with the Moodies. Two
singles came off here, Ride My See-Saw and Voices In The Sky, neither doing that well. The album had a #5 showing in
the UK, but the US was slower to catch on with only a #23 for this one. It would be a few years for the Moodies to
peak here. Stupid americans.

I LOVE THIS ALBUM

Worst Track - House Of Four Doors (Part 2)

Best Track - The Best Way To Travel

And you can fly
High as a kite if you want to
Faster than light if you want to
Speeding through the universe
Thinking is the best way to travel

It's all a dream
Light passing by on the screen
And there's you and I on the beam
Speeding through the universe
Thinking is the best way to travel

We ride the waves
Distance is gone, will we find out?
How life bean, will be find out?
Speeding through the universe
Thinking is the best way to travel

And you can fly
High as a kite if you want to
Faster than light if you want to
Speeding through the universe
Thinking is the best way to travel
