![]() Just gotta lighten up on occasion. No better way to do that than with a good mystery novel. Too bad this wasn't a good mystery novel. Not really a big Patterson fan. Usually books are better than movies. Not in Pattersons case. Enjoy the movies much more, Kiss The Girls, Along Came A Spider, great movies with Morgan Freeman playing detective Alex Cross. Not sure if this one's a movie, but it would have to be better than the book. Two different murder cases to be solved. Not related which made no sense. One, a child murderer, the other, a plot to kill the President. How original. Alex unveils the truth, a secret enemy within the White House. The President dies. Oops, sorry. No pic for this one
Rather dated but still a good read. Not much has happened in the Middle East since '74 anyway. Good to read an Arab perspective on Israel. Yes they got screwed. It's been 60 years, get over it. Easy for me to say I know. Some people still relive the Civil War and that' been 150 years, so what can you say? People hold grudges. A lot of this book is a history of the middle east all the way back to the crusades. Very informative. There is a heavy bias towards the Palestinians and that's fine. Not wanting to get into the politics of this. Wrongs have been committed on both sides. Can't we all just get along? Grade - A next up - The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

![]() Read through it a couple days ago. ******* incredible. As good as everyone claims. Never had to read it for school, but my family found an old, rotting copy, so I grabbed it before we tossed it. I've since moved onto finishing; ![]() I'm a couple of bands into the Saturday lineup and so far its pretty great. Nice easy reading. Each chapter is a performance and all these quotes from people involved about it. Very easy episodic reading that creates an impressive visual of the event. I'm loving this. I'd recommend it to any hippie/Woodstock lovers who couldn't make it. Unless it gets terrible in the last couple of chapters or something. Author's certainly biased towards bands he likes and dislikes though, but I already knew that from reading another of his work's ("The History of Rock N' Roll" or something along those lines.).

![]() Don't think I was as thrilled as Tracy and the hatchetman but it was pretty good. Have to consider that this is written for a much younger audience. Hard for me to wrap my brain around the futuristic premise, government sponsored games where teenagers are sent into an arena to kill each other. Just a thought, don't participate. But they do, 24 of them, a fight to the death. A little romance thrown in to the mix. For those in the dark, this is a trilogy, of which this is book 1. The wife has already read the second one which I will get to at some point. There was an ending to this one and it's now a huge movie hit. Guess I'll see it someday. According to an interview with Ms. Collins, she actually got the idea for this from the tv show Survivor. Maybe if they killed each other on there, I would watch it.
