BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN "wrecking ball"
i wont get this one till i see Corey next week, but listened to it via itunes today and let me tell y'all...
the Boss is back, if he ever went away, that is!?
another cracker of an album by Jersey's greatest.
typical Springsteen sounds here, but as Gater said in a post the other day..."he is angry as hell" about the state
of the USA and the effects of Govt decisions are affecting working class america.
his lyrics are straight "in your face" and he's pointing his fingers at ya throughout this one.
im assuming all the anger is aimed at politicians, but there sould be a bit of anger from grieving the loss
of E-Street Band member CC who died last year also...
either way this album is another top notch release from Bruce Springsteen and well worth a listen IMO
rating:
2.2 on initial listening
from the album:
shackled and drawn

death to my hometown
Bruce Springsteen - Death To My Hometown - YouTube audio

I read an interview somewhere about this album and Bruce said "You can't go wrong with pissed off in rock n' roll"

I am excited to get this album.

I am glad to see you felt the same. I think the difference is, that being a native New Yorker, I have a special affinity for Bruce. He is, after all, from New York's kid brother state, Jersey.

im going to post this album in its entirity over the next couple of days with links to all the songs in the "what are you listening to.." thread
as a footnote, the only music reviewer i bother to listen to or read hera in Australia reviewed the album as his weekly review on friday, gave it 4/5 or a coverted 2.4 on our rating system here, which after repeated listens by me seems to be pretty much on the mark..but time will tell over the next couple of days, its certainly better than his last couple of albums for me, and probably as good as his last "pissed off" rock album...."the rising" from a decade ago IMO
