I really think it's a really a shame that it's the same songs that get played all the time when there's so much good music out there that doesn't get any airtime at all.
I think the worst part is that often the songs aren't even the band's best. Or close to it. I hear Sweet Home Alabama all the time, but never hear Simple Man (Unless its Shinedown's version, and in my opinion, that's even worse than not hearing the song at all. <_<).
Instead of overplaying the same songs, how about trying to play songs by the same band that are even better? I know its a shocking concept and all, but...

I wonder if a Ac/Dc song gets overplayed.

I just hate the fact that some stations think Pink Floyd have two records, Dark Side & The Wall.
Doesn't matter much, radio sucks anyway.

I agrree except for the online genre specific stations. For the most part they're excellent. Our national radio station CBC ( commercial free like the American NPR) actually played the Pink Floyd Meddle album to my great delight !!!!

I agree. " Money" is always played on the radio, over and over and over. Also Stairway to Heaven, overplayed. I mean, I love the song... but we get it... there are other songs. Someone play those. But radio is about playing hits, they play for people, most of the time, that only know the bands because of these hit songs. They know nothing else... so the radio plays to that.

I've heard that everyday so far this week (Its Friday at this point). I listened because I liked it on Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday there was nothing else on and I wasn't really sure how to turn it off Thursday. Figured there must be something fishy going on.
Never realized how truly overplayed the song is until this eye-opening week. Kinda hoping I hear it today though, just to say I heard it everyday in one business week. Think it'd be pretty cool to say that for a song that isn't current top 40.
