The yes album was to me the best all round album that this band produced. It was their third album release and they had just recruited Steve howe on guitar tony kaye was on hammond chris squire bass bill bruford drums and the great Jon Anderson vocals . this is one of those albums that i can play all the way through and not skip one song . the whole thing totally gels for me, I think Yes were at their very best there. When i saw them live in london in 1980 some ten years later they played almost every song from this album and we loved it. just a fantastic album.

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown..............................Chris Simpson ( "Mixed Up Sensations" 1975 Martin's Cafe )

I am currently going through a Yes phase...coincidence eh ! The Yes Album was my introduction to this amazing group ! All the songs are great but I've Seen All Good People still stands out for me !.... such beautiful harmony and singing and a great melody !I also enjoy the solo works of Squire, Anderson and Howe !

I prefer 'Going for the One' to the Yes album. To me this was when they hit their musical peak. Just bought their latest album, 'Fly From Here' and it's pretty good too.

Tales would be a close second for me - amazing album. A bit on the long side but hey you can't say you're not getting you money's worth! Can't remember the name of the track from Relayer that I really like. Lyrics are something like ' Soon, oh soon the light.....etc etc' Must dig that one out again. Has not been played in years.

I love Fragile, & Close to The Edge. Turn of The Century from Going For The One is a bit of a masterpiece, though...

And Awaken - Mr Wakeman really pulled out all the stops (pardon the pun) on that one.
