What Are You Listening To?
Don't have either of those two albums
In fact, I don't have any Metallica. OMG!
I do like the Black album, but that's about it.

Aerosmith, same as you, like to hear them, don't care to see them.
G 'n' R is another one I feel that way about

have heard several Metallica albums...the Black Album is the only one i actually care for

as a footnote...dont like watching Jagger neither

Good one Crazyman.

Slade were the first band I really got into as a kid. Eventually got to see the original line-up in the early '80s, and they were superb.

I think there's only two of them left in the touring band now. No Noddy, or Jim Lea, and what are Slade without those two...

i was aware Jim Lea was no longer touring....but Noddy Holder...thought he was still touring, and youre right Slade without Noddy on vocals isnt Slade, sort of like Stones without Jagger!

Always remembered them as Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels, but the wheels got the shaft on this compilation, as
only Mitch gets billing. Had a few mid 60's hits before fading fast. This probably covers anything worthy. Mitch
had a great voice for the material, maybe one of the first blue-eyed soul guys. Covered some Motown stuff, and did
it very well, the best of those for me being the Supremes Come See About Me, a rare love cover. The James Brown
covers are decent, but certainly not Godfather worthy. Best for me is Devil With A Blue Dress On, which was also
their biggest hit at #4. Loving six of the ten tracks gives this a very nice grade. Mitch still does some oldies
tours. Don't usually like using clips of oldies that are not from around the period, but the inclusion of a live
performance for my favorite here, proves Mitch still had it, whenever it was recorded. And the live clip from 1966 on
that last track is just a real blast from the past. His last notable release was in 1983, produced by John Mellancamp.
Had some respect among his peers including locals Bob Seger and Ted Nugent. Success was brief but influential
enough to have a lasting impact.

I LOVE THIS ALBUM

Worst Track - Too Many Fish In The Sea

Best Track - Devil With A Blue Dress On

Fee, fee, fi, fi, fo-fo, fum
Look at Molly now [or look out once again, now], here she comes
Wearin' her wig hat and shades to match
She's got high-heel shoes and an alligator hat
Wearin' her pearls and her diamond rings
She's got bracelets on her fingers, now, and everything
She's the devil with the blue dress, blue dress, blue dress,
Devil with the blue dress on
Devil with the blue dress, blue dress, blue dress,
Devil with the blue dress on
Wearin' her perfume, Chanel No. 5
Got to be the finest girl alive
She walks real cool, catches everybody's eye
She's got such good lovin' that they can't say goodbye
Not too skinny, she's not too fat
She's a real humdinger and I like it like that
She's the devil with the blue dress, blue dress, blue dress,
Devil with the blue dress on
Devil with the blue dress, blue dress, blue dress,
Devil with the blue dress on

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN "working on a dream" cd,2009.

surprised to find this was only the 15th studio album of his career, thought he had a few more than that??
this is the follow up to "magic" and in Bruce's own words "a good companion piece", see, Magic was prety much an album focussing on all the domestic issues that Mr.Joe Average faced under the Dubya regime, whilst this is a positive outlook to the future should Obama get elected President of the US,according to Bruce. Springsteen was, at the time, an outspoken supporter of the Obama/
Biden ticket, with "working on a dream" (the song) an unofficial theme to their campaign.
that said, the songs arent political in nature, just "positive" in their outlook on life.
a couple of surprise tracks on here, the blues rock of "good eye" sounds as far from Springsteens previous works as say Abba does to AC/DC. "tomorrow never knows" is a brilliant folk ballad much in the same vein as a Dylan acoustic folk track.
still, the best track here is the eight minute epic masterpiece "outlaw pete" which is a bit folk rock in nature with a story equal to those of Dylan at his finest, just hoping i can find a good live link for it!
track theirteen is a bonus track, it is also the title track/theme song from the MNickey Rourke movie of the same name...
five "love" tracks here, but quite easily could have been six or seven...maybe next time?

I LIKE THIS ALBUM

IMO he lost his mojo after Born In The USA for a couple of albums, but overall since the mid '90s has been pretty consistant with his output, i actually only got back "into" him in the '00's when he released "the rising" album....missed a few good albums prior to that, but got them all now,so i am redeemed!
thankfully, a few of my Boss albums are waiting in the wings to get played again...looking foreward to The River coming out soon, been long overdue for a spin!

I have everything up through The Ghost Of Tom Joad.
I do like that abum, so not sure why I dropped out at that point.
Probably the 7 year lapse till the next one.
Have heard some of the later ones and like them, just never picked them up.
My bad
