I'm listening to Charmine Clamor since I'm a big fan of her!

I've been rather invested in the works of Sonny Sharrock aka Greatest Guitarist Who Ever Lived. Right now I'm listening to "Black Woman", and I'm having a pretty hard time getting into it. It's the lack his signature feedback-drenched guitar that's throwing me off

for now anyway !!!!..you've got a lot of listening to do in the next 60 years !!!..lol

Taking me back once again to the 30's and 40's. Wait, I wasn't here yet, so I can't be going back. Maybe in my dads
head. I've always loved this stuff. Swing music, big band, whatever you want to label it. The Andrews Sisters
(Laverne, Maxine, Patricia) discovered they could sing in the mid 30's when they won their first talent contest.
American Idols with Patti the youngest at age 12. First hit was the leadoff track here in 1937. Most well known has
to be Boogie Woggie Bugle Boy. Bette Midler redid that in 1972 to revive the awareness of the sisters. Peak years
were in the WWII era doing a lot of overseas tours for the troops. Seventy Five million records sold is not too
shabby. I love this music because something from 75 years ago even exists. I didn't.

I LOVE THIS ALBUM

Worst Track - Ti-Pi-Tin

Best Track - Rum And Coca-Cola

If you ever go down Trinidad
They make you feel so very glad
Calypso sing and make up rhyme
Guarantee you one real good fine time

Drinkin' rum and Coca-Cola
Go down Point Koomahnah
Both mother and daughter
Workin' for the Yankee dollar

Oh, beat it man, beat it

Since the Yankee come to Trinidad
They got the young girls all goin' mad
Young girls say they treat 'em nice
Make Trinidad like paradise

Drinkin' rum and Coca-Cola
Go down Point Koomahnah
Both mother and daughter
Workin' for the Yankee dollar

Oh, you vex me, you vex me

From Chicachicaree to Mona's Isle
Native girls all dance and smile
Help soldier celebrate his leave
Make every day like New Year's Eve

Drinkin' rum and Coca-Cola
Go down Point Koomahnah
Both mother and daughter
Workin' for the Yankee dollar

It's a fact, man, it's a fact

In old Trinidad, I also fear
The situation is mighty queer
Like the Yankee girl, the native swoon
When she hear der Bingo croon

Drinkin' rum and Coca-Cola
Go down Point Koomahnah
Both mother and daughter
Workin' for the Yankee dollar

Out on Manzanella Beach
G.I. romance with native peach
All night long, make tropic love
Next day, sit in hot sun and cool off

Drinkin' rum and Coca-Cola
Go down Point Koomahnah
Both mother and daughter
Workin' for the Yankee dollar

It's a fact, man, it's a fact

Rum and Coca-Cola
Rum and Coca-Cola
Workin' for the Yankee dollar

got this one several weeks ago from Tiggi....sorry its taken so long to give it a spin Tiggster!
always liked Billie but until now never owned any so this was a real treat to get in the mail...in fact never really knew where to start with her music, so i guess this one solves the problem..10 cd set, 186 tracks.
seriously, i can listen to Billie, Nina Simone,John Coltrane and Etta James all day long if given the chance.
anyway, this is the first disc in the set of ten, nothing on here i do not like, just a steady album of great jazz sounds,
my pick of the tracks are listed with links below:

i wished on the moon
