What Are You Reading ?
'Elton' - can't remember the author but very well written. Also Mike Oldfield's biography. And going hand in hand with MO - Richard Branson's biography. An amazing character.

Not my cover. Made into a film at some point titled The 13th Warrior. Been sitting on the shelf for awhile and I needed some fantasy. Travel back to some 1000 years ago. Made into a novel from some ancient diary of some dude named Ahmad ibn-Fadlan recruited by some viking warriors to go hunt for a mysterious creature that is feared by all. It eats flesh. cool! The vikings win.

next up - Lazarus Rising by John Howard

some back tracking for reads while I was out of touch

Johnny Cash - Cash- 2007

Borrowed this from my son-in-law who's a big fan. Johnny's second bio after The Man In Black. Have not read that one, but a lot of this must be repeated material from that one. Pick one. This was written after Johnny had received a second start with Rick Rubin and he shows his appreciation for that. A lot of good stories with country legends, his religious views and his drug addiction. Johnny tells it all, good and bad. Only downside, it's too short.

i own, and have head The Man in Black book twice....the good thing about Cash's bio's is that he does give a 'warts n all' account of his life, and you gotta admire anyone who does that IMO....the Neil Young bio "shakey" is the same thing...but unlike the Cash ones, leaves you feeling that Neil is very much a 'controlling A-H' in his proffessional life.
as a footnote Neil is releasing his autobiography early next year...that should be a good read also with 45 yrs of music behind him...

ps, have finished the Dubya bio....my opinion of him as a President has not changed much...and we are still going to agree to disagree on the subject, but it was good to get his point of view of 9/11 etc, and i now believe Michael Moore did sensationalise some aspects of his Presidency, so respect for Dubya has gone up slightly and respect for M.Moore has taken a huge dive not only with the "9/11" doco but also the "bowling for collumbine" one also
