Band names

Why do all the new metal bands have names that are about bloodlust, death, doom and gloom. Can't they get their heads past the old cliches.

the answer is simple Jerome.....most heavy metal is not very intelligent so how you expect them to use intelligence to select their names??

and for the "old cliches"...Metal has always been full of simplistic cliches from guitar riffs to subject matter

There are tons of prog metal (rock) bands that have cool names...prog is where it's at for me at the moment..something else could come along at any moment...lol......The extreme metal bands with black metal themes and death growls tend to take on very bizarre names for the shock value ...I guess. Jimmy and the Hurricanes wouldn't fly as a doom metal band .....lol

i think they have cliched names because frankly, metal riffs are very cliched for the most part, so it goes hand in hand i guess
