The Space Shuttle Atlantis

It was really neat. I got to see her take off from the beach here and then this morning I heard the twin sonic booms as she returned to earth. I'm sad the space program is shutting down but it was cool to be able to see and hear the final flight.

They should never have shut this down but it's probably costing a bomb and in these financially strained times I can understand it.

I know, I can understand why it's got to go but it's really depressing. So many lost jobs here and it's the end of an era.

And they're now talking about private companies picking up the baton. Can't see that happening any time soon...
