Im curious theres a lot of talk in the media of how much people illegally download.

So at a guess how much do you 'steal' (and theres no other word for it really lol)

compared with buy??

I think im not too bad i grab the odd album but more often than that i rely on the free voucher sites like

http://itunesgiftcodes.wordpress.com ( Link left in by Gryphon...however normally MD does not allow links to be posted within the first 10 posts!)_

although there has been a few times where ive bought something from itunes
and ended up downloading it as well due to some drm issue!

They most likely didnt steal it, I cannot be for sure though. And actually I can't go to jail unless it's been sold to me. Therefore I'm purchasing copyrighted items, which is illegal. I live in Romania, copyright laws actually don't exist right now, they are working with the EU to put them in place. I can legally download anything I want free of charge with no legal obligations. And I still purchase it off itunes

I think I have news for you

If i'm correct, Romania is part of the EU. If it is, EU law applies from the date of joining and therefore you can be prosecuted..........................!:nod::nod::nod:
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.

My friend you'd be surprised at how many EU "standards" and laws aren't even possible to implement. It's a third world country, and I think I'd know... I have lived here for over 5 years. Thank you for your concern.. I'm not trying to get into a "who knows best" argument either. The laws have not gone into place here yet, they are in a few months though. Besides the point I'm still an avid itunes customer regardless of the ability I could have. I'm an American citizen, a student of law, and I move alot :/

I've illegally downloaded maybe half a dozen albums, just to test the technology.

A couple of these have been purchased subsequently, but the others are probably lurking in a cupboard somewhere and won't get a second listen...

I also get given downloaded albums burned to a disc from a couple of people I work with. Same applies, If I like the album, I'll buy a CD copy. If i don't, they're stashed away or disposed of.
